A meeting in Sayun discusses the mechanism for organizing the purchase and export process of onion crops

A meeting held today in the city of Sayun, Hadramaut Governorate, discussed a number of issues related to the mechanism for regulating the buying, selling and exporting of onion crops, as part of efforts to enhance transparency and regulate the agricultural sector, given its importance in supporting the local economy.
The meeting, which included major onion exporters, a number of farmers, and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, decided to limit the weight of the box upon purchase to 22 kg, to ensure unified standards between farmers and exporters.
The meeting stressed the importance of achieving a balance between the interests of farmers and exporters, and forming a joint committee of merchants and farmers to follow up on the implementation of the decision and ensure compliance with it in a way that achieves the public interest and enhances transparency.
