Riyadh: The Leadership Council discusses economic and security developments and condemns the Israeli attack on Sanaa

The Presidential Leadership Council, headed by Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, continued today, Thursday, to discuss developments on the national and regional arena, in the presence of all its members. The meeting dealt with developments in the economic situation, as the Council heard a report from the Prime Minister, the Governor of the Central Bank, and the head of the economic team on economic and monetary performance, and ways to enhance financial stability in light of the challenges imposed by the Iran-backed Houthi militias.
The Council also discussed comprehensive reform efforts, including accelerating the implementation of the economic rescue plan, improving the state’s access to its sovereign resources, strengthening price controls and combating corruption.
On the security issue, the Council reviewed the latest developments in the Houthi attacks on maritime security, and condemned the Israeli aggression on Yemeni territory, holding the Houthi militias responsible for the recent escalation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Council approved the minutes of its previous meeting and took a number of executive decisions related to the issues raised.
