The death of a child by burning in mysterious circumstances in Sanaa sparks a widespread wave of anger

A child was burned to death as a result of a fire that broke out in a room in her uncle’s house while they were away in the capital, Sana’a, in a tragic incident that sparked widespread dissatisfaction among residents.
According to local sources, the child, Lamar Omar Al-Dabai (12 years old), who suffered from autism, was found dead tied up inside the room that burned completely.
There were many stories about the cause of the fire. Some indicated that it was caused by an electrical short circuit, while other accounts raised suspicions of criminal suspicion.
One story indicates that the child was being restrained because of her behavior, as her relatives claimed that she was leaving the house without clothes, which prompted them to restrain her to prevent her from leaving.
The sources reported that the girl’s parents have been separated for four years. Her father is an expatriate in Saudi Arabia, while her mother lives in Egypt, leaving Lamar and her siblings under the care of their grandmother and uncles.
On the other hand, another story claims that the child was deliberately abused by one of her relatives, and that she was tied up and deliberately burned to hide the effects of the crime.
The incident sparked widespread controversy over the circumstances of the death, as activists and human rights activists questioned the justifications for restraining the child, pointing out that autism does not make the person suffering from it a danger that requires such harsh treatment.
They demanded that the results of the investigations be revealed and that those responsible for her death be held accountable, whether the fire was accidental or intentional.
Such horrific crimes have recently escalated in Sanaa and areas under Houthi control and have become a source of increasing concern for society, amid deteriorating security and social conditions.
