Customs officials at the Sarfit port were able to seize two fiber optic units that were used exclusively in drones. The use of optical fibers in controlling unmanned aerial vehicles is considered the latest method, as it makes it invulnerable to interference, in addition to its range reaching twenty kilometers.
The two units were hidden in an old clothing parcel
Al-Wadiah customs officials also seized 4,200 liters of raw alcohol packed in one hundred and forty containers and did not have import permits.
The Undersecretary for Customs Control at the Customs Authority, Mr. Ahmed Al-Hajj, explained that the seizure comes in implementation of the Customs Law and applicable laws and the outputs of the Supreme Committee for Combating Smuggling, and in implementation of the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Finance, Mr. Salem Saleh Bin Brik, and the Head of the Customs Authority, Mr. Abdel Hakim Al-Qubati.
