In light of the tension that has reached its peak between Israel and the Houthis in Yemen, the threat between the two parties continues
A hard lesson
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu returned on Wednesday and threatened the group.
He claimed that he would teach Al-Houthi a harsh lesson, as he did with Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Assad regime, as he put it.
This came after Israeli Air Force Commander Tomer Bar announced more severe counterattacks on the Yemeni Houthi group, after another missile attack on the greater Tel Aviv area.
Bar said in a ceremony at Hatzarim Air Base in the Negev Desert in southern Israel on Wednesday that the air force had already attacked the Houthis three times.
He explained: “We will continue to increase the intensity and number of attacks as we need.”
These developments came after a source reported to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority that the Israeli army is currently considering launching a large-scale attack on the Houthis in Yemen.
He announced that the Israeli army is considering launching another attack, the fourth in number, against the Houthis in Yemen.
He also continued that the Israeli Air Force, Army, and Operations Wing are preparing more aggressive plans, and are also working to increase the number of targets throughout Yemen.
On the other hand, the Houthis responded, threatening to target American interests in the region if they were exposed to an American-Israeli attack.
A member of the group's political council, Muhammad Ali Al-Houthi, in a video speech broadcast on the "X" platform, warned "the Americans against targeting Yemen," stressing that his forces will strike American interests in the Middle East without any red lines.
He announced that either the aggression against Gaza and Yemen would stop, or the Houthis would target any sensitive American target that could convey their message.
Al-Houthi also directed all public and private hospitals in the areas under its control to increase readiness in all their departments in anticipation of any emergency.
"Support for Gaza"
Since the outbreak of war in Gaza on October 7 last year (2023), the Houthis have launched dozens of missile attacks and marches towards Israel, and also targeted dozens of cargo ships in the Red Sea, “in support of Gaza.”
However, some observers saw that, after eliminating significant capabilities of Hezbollah in Lebanon, as well as Hamas, Israel had become more prepared and determined to strike the Houthis.
It has already declared explicitly more than once that it has “eliminated all of Iran’s arms in the region, leaving only the Houthis,” and it will repeat it today as well.
In addition, the press office of the Israeli Permanent Mission to the United Nations announced that the UN Security Council is scheduled to hold a meeting on December 30 regarding the attacks launched by the Houthis on Israeli territory.
