The head of the Prisons Division of the Public Prosecution inspects the correctional facility and the Narcotics Control Department in Hadhramaut

In implementation of the directives of the Attorney General, Judge Qaher Mustafa, Judge Dr. Nasser Al-Subaihi, Head of the Prisons Division of the Public Prosecution, today made an inspection visit to the Central Correctional Facility in the city of Mukalla and the Narcotics Control Department in Hadramaut Governorate.
Judge Al-Subaihi was accompanied during the visit by Judge Fahmi Al-Shaddadi, Head of the Specialized Criminal Appeals Prosecution in Hadhramout, and Judge Abdullah Al-Yazidi, Head of the Public Funds Appeals Prosecution in Hadhramout, to review the conditions of the inmates, listen to their complaints, and discuss ways to improve detention conditions.
The head of the Prisons Division and the accompanying delegation were received by the prison director, Colonel Ali Bazbaidi, and his deputy, Captain Yaslam Al-Nohi, where a number of issues were discussed, most notably the delay in deciding prisoners’ cases, and the large crowding in the correctional facility that receives inmates from the governorates of Hadramaut, Shabwa, And skilled, in specialized criminal cases.
The visit also included the governorate's Narcotics Control Department, where the delegation met with a number of detainees in drug-related cases, and discussed with officials in the department the challenges facing work in this sector and the conditions of detained prisoners.
During the inspection tour, Judge Al-Subaihi confirmed that the aim of this visit is to identify the complaints of inmates and detainees, as well as to see the efforts of the judicial control authorities to submit these observations to the competent authorities for study and to take appropriate measures to improve the conditions of prisoners and speed up the decision on their cases.
For his part, Judge Fahmi Al-Shaddadi pointed out the importance of these field visits in promoting justice and following up on the implementation of judicial procedures in a way that achieves justice for inmates, stressing that this step comes to improve the detention environment and improve the judicial work system in the governorate.
In turn, Judge Al-Yazidi explained that the Public Prosecution is keen to enhance justice by increasing coordination with law enforcement agencies, and the Public Prosecution also seeks to keep pace with the challenges facing the prison administration and the drug administration to improve work performance in general.
