Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, Prime Minister of Yemen, expressed his great thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the generous and continuous support it provides to the Yemeni government, as part of its efforts to enhance economic stability in Yemen.
Bin Mubarak confirmed in a statement that the Saudi support announced today, which includes a fourth batch to support the general budget in the amount of $200 million in addition to $300 million to support the Central Bank of Yemen, will contribute significantly to improving the exchange rate of the Yemeni currency. He added that this exceptional support represents a continuing expression of the Kingdom's authentic positions and its continued solidarity with the Yemeni people in various circumstances.
Bin Mubarak explained that this support will enable the Yemeni government to pay the late salaries of state employees, which will help achieve financial stability in the country. He also indicated that this assistance will contribute to stopping the deterioration in the price of the currency, which will enhance the purchasing power of citizens.
The Prime Minister of Yemen also added that this support will enable the government to move forward with the financial and administrative reform program, and strengthen anti-corruption efforts, which are an essential part of the government’s priorities in the next stage.
