Al-Jaadi: Corruption hinders economic growth and increases the suffering of citizens

The Secretary-General of the Southern Transitional Council, Fadel Al-Jaadi, confirmed that corruption is considered one of the most prominent factors that negatively affect the national economy and society in general.
In a post on Facebook, Al-Jaadi pointed out that one of the dire effects of corruption is reducing economic growth rates and placing obstacles to investments, which leads to increasing unemployment rates and raising the cost of living. He also stressed that corruption also contributes to increasing poverty and violating human rights.
Al-Jaadi added that people of good conscience strive to combat corruption in order to limit its destructive effects and reduce the levels of injustice resulting from it. He called for the need to join efforts to confront corruption and achieve sustainable development that benefits all members of society.
