The Masam Project Operations Room announced today (Sunday) that its teams succeeded in seizing 1,151 mines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices during the past week, confirming that the seized toll includes 1,115 unexploded ordnance and 32 anti-tank mines.
The chamber said in a statement that the teams succeeded in clearing 299,442 square meters of Yemeni land.
The Director General of the Masam Project, Osama Al-Gosaibi, said that the field teams had removed 477,583 mines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices since the start of the project until January 3, indicating in a statement published by Masam’s media office that the toll was distributed among 316,862 unexploded ordnance and 8,184 explosive devices. In addition to 145,887 anti-tank mines And 6,690 anti-personnel mines.
Al-Gosaibi added in his statement that the engineering teams of the Masam Project have so far been able to clear 63,678,113 square meters of Yemeni land that was booby-trapped with mines, ammunition, and explosive devices.
