The Presidential Leadership Council announced today, Tuesday, a plan to normalize the situation in Hadramaut Governorate, respond to the rightful demands of its people and its political and societal components, and strengthen its important position in the national equation, and its effective presence in local and central decision-making.
The Presidential Leadership Council, in a statement, called on the people of Hadhramaut Governorate and its political and societal components to distance their governorate from any internal tensions or disputes, preserve its security and stability, and devote themselves to its development, alleviating the suffering of its people, and strengthening its historical position as a model of peace, the presence of the state and the rule of law.
The following is the text of the statement:
Based on the results of the sessions of the Presidential Leadership Council dated 11/22/12/24/2024 regarding the exceptional conditions in Hadhramaut Governorate, and in response to the rightful demands of the people of the governorate, and its solid position in the national equation.
In accordance with the entitlements announced by His Excellency Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, during his recent visit to Hadramaut Governorate with some members of the Council, and the recommendations of the committee composed of its members, and its executive matrix, the Presidential Leadership Council approved a package of executive measures to normalize the situation in the governorate, which included The following:
- Approving the proceeds from the sale of crude oil found in the Dabbah and Masila reservoirs to establish two new electrical stations in the coast and Wadi Hadhramaut.
- Supporting and assisting efforts aimed at unifying and mobilizing the people of Hadhramaut and all their components, and strengthening their just partnership in the state structures, and any upcoming political entitlements in proportion to Hadhramaut’s status and entitlement at various levels.
- Absorbing the people of Hadhramaut into the armed and security forces in accordance with the law and approved recruitment standards.
-Establishing a general hospital in the plateau (Ghail Ben Yammine) from the proceeds of the value of diesel stored in the PetroMasila Company and examining the allegations of corruption attributed to the Masila Petroleum Exploration and Production Company (PetroMasila).
-Managing all local and central revenues for the benefit of the development and reconstruction of the governorate according to a joint development plan with the government and the regional and international donor community.
These measures require that the local authority and all Hadrami components welcome the agreed-upon decisions and end the protest demonstrations in preparation for comprehensive reforms that will restore Hadramaut Governorate to its natural status as a locomotive for development, stability, and peace.
