Today, Wednesday, the Yemeni government forces carried out the funeral of 11 of its soldiers who were killed in battles with the Houthi militia, northwest of Ma’rib Governorate, during the past days.
The funeral ceremony was held in Marib, in the presence of a number of military and security officials, and crowds of citizens.
Over the past few days, the Houthi militia has launched intense attacks on government forces' positions on the Ma'rib fronts, in an attempt to penetrate them.
According to local sources, the Houthi militia sent large reinforcements to the Ma’rib fronts, with premeditated intentions to storm the city, which is controlled by those affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood (Islah al-Yemen).
These developments come in light of the continuation of the UN declared truce in Yemen, and the ongoing efforts to end the war and push the Yemeni parties towards a lasting peace.
