Dr. Nasser Al-Khobaji, Chairman of the Political Body and Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit of the Southern Transitional Council, received today, Wednesday in the capital, Aden, a delegation from the German “Berghof” organization headed by Mr. Joshua Ragers, Director of the Yemen Unit in the organization, and Ms. Kenza Radi, Director of the Strengthening Cohesion Project. During the meeting, which was attended by Anis Al-Sharafi, Vice President of the Council’s Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Authority, developments in the comprehensive political process and international and regional efforts made to end the war and bring peace were discussed. The meeting also touched on the importance of dealing positively with everything that would ensure just and sustainable solutions to all issues, most notably the issue of the people of the South.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Al-Khobaji welcomed the delegation of the Berghof Organization, praising its efforts in enhancing peace opportunities and bringing viewpoints closer together, stressing the Transitional Council’s support for all efforts made by the organization.
Dr. Al-Khobaji stressed the need to reconsider the formation of the joint negotiating team and activate it, and to ensure fair representation that takes into account the percentage of liberated lands in any negotiation or partnership, explaining the importance of correcting the imbalances in the current partnership in a way that contributes to the activation of state institutions.
Dr. Al-Khobaji stressed that the Transitional Council will remain committed to achieving the aspirations of the southern people to restore the state and disengage, noting that the issue of the people of the south cannot be postponed or deported, as it represents the basis for any comprehensive and sustainable peace in the region.
Dr. Al-Khobaji called for the importance of developing a comprehensive strategy based on action at various levels, whether political, economic or military, with the aim of achieving comprehensive stability that undermines the plans of the terrorist Houthi militia and places them on the negotiating table.
For his part, Mr. Joshua Rogers provided an overview of the upcoming activities that the organization plans to implement, stressing the necessity of coordination with the Transitional Council in various activities, reviewing the meetings he held with a number of southern leaders in the capital, Aden, and Abu Dhabi.
