Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, stressed the importance of the partnership between the Yemeni government, the United Nations, and its affiliated agencies, organizations, and programs, in re-updating work priorities, leading to contributing to the implementation of the economic recovery plan, the government’s vision, and focusing on sustainable interventions that It directly affects the lives and livelihood of citizens.
The Prime Minister stressed, during a meeting held at the United Nations headquarters in New York, with the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed, the need to direct more efforts towards development solutions to enhance economic stability and alleviate the human suffering caused by the terrorist Houthi militia.
p>The meeting discussed mechanisms for joint cooperation between the Yemeni government and United Nations organizations to deal with the emerging humanitarian and economic variables, and what can be provided to support the government to strengthen institutional capabilities and partnership in formulating the required needs and interventions, in addition to the continued detention of United Nations employees by the Houthi militias and the obstacles that It is imposed on relief and humanitarian work.
For her part, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations reiterated that the United Nations will remain an essential partner with the Yemeni government in efforts to achieve peace and sustainable development... noting the government’s efforts, the reforms it is undertaking, and its vision to achieve economic recovery.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Waed Badib, the Permanent Representative of Yemen to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdullah Al-Saadi, and the Prime Minister’s Advisor, Ambassador Mujib Othman.
