Vice Chairman of the Presidential Command Council, Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, stressed the importance of the strategy developed by the Council and the government to end Iranian influence in Yemen and remove the tools of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard from the scene.
Al-Zubaidi said, in an interview with Sky News Arabia on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, that this strategy adopts an integrated approach that combines political, military, and economic axes, in coordination with regional and international partners
He explained that the strategy is based on 3 main factors: it includes firstly at the internal level by activating the role of the Presidential Command Council with all its components in the liberated areas, secondly at the regional level by supporting the Arab coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and thirdly at the international level. This is in cooperation with the international community, especially the United States and the United Kingdom, to ensure that Houthi threats in Yemen and international navigation are addressed.
The Deputy Presidential Command Council confirmed that the primary goal of the strategy is to “remove Al-Houthi from the scene completely,” stressing that Al-Houthi represents a “dangerous Iranian arm” that threatens regional and international stability.
Al-Zubaidi pointed out that the battle with the Houthis witnessed major transformations, especially with their interference in international navigation, which led to a radical change in the nature and features of the war.
He stressed that the previous UN road map had “expired,” calling on the US administration led by President Donald Trump to classify the Houthis as a “first-class terrorist entity.”
