The Kuwaiti company KUFPEC, one of the main partners in sector (5) in Yemen, sent a letter to the Yemeni Minister of Oil and Minerals, Dr. Saeed Al-Shammasi, demanding urgent intervention to stop the violations of the current operator of the sector, PetroMasila Company, which it described as administrative and technical negligence and unprofessional abuse. .
The company explained that PetroMasila showed an inability to manage the sector, which led to the cessation of production operations, noting that the partners in the sector decided, by a majority of votes during two official meetings, and with the blessing of Wecom, to choose Jannah Hunt Company to be the new operator, but PetroMasila deliberately Disable delivery procedures.
KUFPEC also expressed its dissatisfaction with the inappropriate treatment its representatives faced from some PetroMasila officials, including verbal abuse and closing lines of communication in the face of company representatives while discussing technical and administrative issues related to the sector.
The company called on the Yemeni Minister of Oil to intervene to speed up the procedures for handing over the sector to the new operator before January 1, 2025, stressing that the continuation of these actions will lead to escalation of the matter to the official and diplomatic authorities in the State of Kuwait.
At the conclusion of her message, KUFPEC affirmed its commitment to supporting Yemeni efforts to restart the sector and resume production and exports in the interest of the Yemeni people.
