Al-Alimi is briefed by the Governor of the Central Bank on the procedures resulting from classifying the Houthis as a terrorist organization

Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, today, Thursday, made a phone call with the Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Maqbi, regarding the procedures resulting from the US administration’s decision to reclassify the Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime as a foreign terrorist organization.
The Chairman of the Presidential Command Council briefed the Governor of the Central Bank on the executive procedures for the terrorist classification, in accordance with the decision of the National Defense Council, and international mechanisms, to dry up the sources of financing for terrorist militias, and prevent their access to resources that destabilize local security, regional and international stability.
He stressed the need for the government and its concerned institutions to commit to close cooperation with the Central Bank and the international community to implement punitive measures against the terrorist group, limit any negative repercussions on the Yemeni financial and banking sector, and the interests of citizens, and reassure the humanitarian community by ensuring the flow of...
