The United Nations asks its employees to resume work in the Houthi regions

Yemeni media sources said that the United Nations was directed to resume work from its offices in the areas under the control of the Houthi group, with the exception of Saada Governorate (the main stronghold of the group, the far north of Yemen), after a comment that lasted for more than a week against the background of a campaign of arrests of seven of its employees .
According to an internal circular directed to the international organizations in Sana'a, all employees were asked to return to their work headquarters, as of yesterday, Sunday, without any clarification regarding their colleagues detained by the Houthis, according to what was reported by the "Yemen Future" media platform.
The United Nations suspended, last January 24, all its official moves within the Houthi control areas, and also asked its employees to work from their homes, after the group kidnapped seven international employees in Sanaa.
This development comes in light of the continuation of international claims to immediately release the UN employees, amid silence by the Houthi group about their fate.
These directives came hours after the Secretary -General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, who stressed the need for humanitarian aid to Yemen, expressing his hope to avoid any unintended consequences that may affect civilians, as a result of the classification of the Houthis as a "terrorist organization". p>
