400 trucks accumulated in the deposit ... a Saudi decision to stop importing Yemeni onions

An informed source stated that the Saudi authorities have arrested more than 400 trucks loaded with tons of onions in the port of the deposit, despite the announcement of a government official two weeks ago the resumption of fresh Yemeni agricultural and fish exports after a ban on months.
A source in the Al -Falah Production Association in Wadi Hadramout explained that the export stopping caused the damage of large quantities of the crop and the farmers and exporters incurred severe financial losses.
In addition, a meeting of the authorities in Wadi Hadramout discussed the mechanism of joint coordination between the relevant authorities with the aim of facilitating the procedures for exporting the onion crop and enhancing the competitiveness of local agricultural products.
The Yemeni government decided at the beginning of last year to ban the export of onions to the external market, but it retreated two weeks after the decision, and re -allowed the export process, and kept 30% of the total product for consumption in the local market.
This led to the accumulation of the onion product on the marine and land ports, which created a wave of anxiety among investors and farmers.
