The European Union launched its marine operation "Asbids" on February 19, 2024, following the escalation of Houthi attacks on commercial and western warships in the Red Sea region and northwest of the Indian Ocean. The headquarters of the operation is located in the Greek city Ships, warships, and a seat crew from 21 European countries, whose mission is only defensive, as they are entitled to shoot to defend commercial ships or defend themselves; But she cannot hit the Houthi ground targets in northern Yemen.
