The Jordanian Food and Drug General Authority, with the Houthi -controlled drug body in Sanaa, signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance technical cooperation and joint coordination, in a move that would raise a response from the internationally recognized government.
The Memorandum of Understanding included the exchange of technical consultations, expertise, information and knowledge related to standards, laws, regulations, foundations and legislations adopted in the institution, and promoting scientific, industrial and technological capabilities, according to the Houthi "Saba" agency.
The Yemeni embassy in Jordan said that it followed the signing of the agreement and contacted the specialists in the relevant Jordanian authorities, which issued directives to cancel the memorandum of understanding.
In late July 2018, the Cabinet approved the draft resolution to transfer the Center for the Supreme Authority for Medicines and Medical Supplies from Sanaa to the internationally recognized capital Aden.
Immediately after the transportation decision, the authority directed the relevant authorities in customs, taxes, trade, catering, companies and drug trade and industry institutions on the need to directly deal with the main center in Aden.
