The Houthi militia authorities in the Ibb Governorate in the center of the country continue to kidnap a teacher in one of their prisons in the governorate three months ago, after he was unable to pay the rent for an apartment in which he lives for the benefit of its Endowment Office.
Local sources said that the Houthi militia authorities in the city of Ibb, the center of the governorate, have continued to kidnap the teacher “MA” in one of their prisons in the Ibb governorate for three months, after he was unable to pay the rent for the apartment in which he lives and is affiliated with the Endowments Office in the governorate.
The teacher, who works at Al-Farouk School in Al-Dhahar District, lives in a house affiliated with the Endowments Office, and it is one of dozens of houses and apartments affiliated with the Office in the center of the governorate, inhabited by influential members of the militia leadership and those loyal to it, according to the sources.
The sources said that the teacher’s imprisonment was carried out under the direction of the Houthi leader, “Haitham Al-Assal,” who is the brother of the Houthi leader, “Bandar Al-Assal,” who was appointed by the militia as director of the governorate’s endowments.
She pointed out that the teacher’s family is unable to do anything about his continued detention, while disputes between Houthi leaders driven by efforts to seize the apartment for the benefit of influential people compound the teacher’s tragedy.
Teachers in militia-controlled areas have been suffering from the interruption of their salaries for years, like other government employees, while the Houthi de facto authority disavows its responsibility to disburse them and places responsibility for the interruption of their salaries on the recognized government and the coalition supporting it.
