The European Union Ambassador, Gabriel Viniez, said that the Yemen crisis is now linked to other regional conflicts, which holds peace efforts.

He explained at the conclusion of the third international’s internationalists in Jordan, that stability in Yemen means stability in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, the Bab al -Mandab, the Red Sea, and the international navigation in the Suez Canal.

Gabriel affirmed the European Union's commitment to support the negotiations led by the United Nations, but he denounced the Houthi arrests of relief workers, which he said restricted the ability of the international community to help millions.

For his part, the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grendberg, said that achieving peace in the country is still possible if efforts are united, but he acknowledged that Yemen is facing tremendous challenges.

He added in a speech during the closing session of the third Yemen International Forum, that Yemen is currently facing major challenges, including the shrinking of the civil area, especially in the areas under the control of the Houthi militia.

He emphasized that the risk of military escalation inside Yemen is increasing, which warns of exacerbation of suffering and obstructing the efforts to bring peace.
