The Houthi classification has started in force

The American executive order to classify the Houthi group entered an international terrorist organization into effect, Monday, March 3, 2025, including additional sanctions targeting the group’s leaders.
US President Donald Trump canceled on January 22, the decision of Joe Biden, who removed the Houthis from the list of foreign terrorist organizations, was canceled by signing an executive order to re -include the Ansar Allah group (known as the Houthis) within the terrorist classification.
It is reported that the Trump administration included the Houthis as a foreign terrorist organization in January 2021, but the Biden administration canceled this classification after assuming power, but during the subsequent years, the American administration’s approach led to the escalation of the Houthis, as they targeted the US Navy's military ships dozens of times, and carried out attacks on a civil infrastructure in “Allied countries”, in addition to More than 100 attacks targeted commercial ships in Bab al -Mandab.
Under the new executive order, the US Secretary of State, in consultation with other parties, is charged with submitting a final recommendation regarding the re -included the Houthis within 30 days.
The US administration also confirms, under Trump's leadership, its commitment to cooperation with regional partners to eliminate the military capabilities of the Houthis, and to deprive them of resources, with the aim of stopping their attacks on American civilians and the United States' allies, as well as the movement of navigation in the Red Sea.
After the re -classification, the American CEO of International Development (USAID), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to conduct a comprehensive review of United Nations partnerships, NGOs and contractors working in Yemen.
According to this review, relations with any entity that have transferred money to the Houthis will be terminated, hunted international efforts to confront them, or overlook their terrorist practices and their violations of human rights.
