A member of the Presidential Command Council, Brigadier General Tariq Saleh, confirmed today, Wednesday, that the Presidential Council seeks to achieve peace in Yemen, but will not hesitate to defend the homeland if necessary.
Saleh said on his Twitter page: The international community is discussing the Yemenis’ chances for peace and rebuilding their state under a pluralistic republican system governed by the constitution and law.
Saleh added that the Presidential Council supports these efforts, and seeks to achieve a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees the rights and interests of all Yemenis.
Saleh continued: “We affirm that we are partners in peace, and our hands are on the trigger, and we will defend the homeland with all force if necessary.”
These statements come in light of international and regional movements in Riyadh to come up with a solution to the Yemeni crisis under the supervision of the United Nations.
