Under the direction of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, met in Riyadh, today (Wednesday), the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen, Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, and members of the Presidential Leadership Council.
The Minister of Defense conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, to the Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council and members of the Council, and their wishes for the sisterly Republic of Yemen and its people for security, stability, and development, while His Excellency conveyed to the Minister of Defense His greetings to the leadership of the Kingdom.
During the meeting, the latest developments and efforts made in the Yemeni issue were reviewed, and ways to enhance and support them to ensure the restoration of the path of peace.
The two sides discussed cooperation and coordination regarding the road map between the Yemeni parties. To reach a comprehensive political solution to end the Yemeni crisis under the supervision of the United Nations, in addition to discussing a number of issues of common interest.
The Minister of Defense stressed the Kingdom’s continued support for the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, and the importance of giving priority to the national interest of all Yemeni parties. To reach a comprehensive and lasting peace that contributes to achieving development and prosperity for Yemen and its brotherly people.
The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Yemen, Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber, and the Director General of the Office of the Minister of Defense, Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif.
It was also attended from the Yemeni side by members of the Presidential Leadership Council, Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, Brigadier General Tariq Muhammad Saleh, Abdul Rahman Abu Zaraa, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi Bawazir, Othman Hussein Majli, and Faraj Salmeen Al-Bahsani.
