Global food intends to lay off more than 230 of its employees in Yemen with the escalation of Houthi violations

Informed sources revealed the intention of the World Food Program (WFP), that more than 230 of its employees and the closure of his offices in Yemen have been closed, with the escalation of Houthi violations against its employees.
The Chinese correspondent of the Chinese agency, Faris Al -Humairi, quoted sources that he described in particular, saying; The UN program "decided to lay off more than 230 employees (210 Yemenis and 20 foreigners) from its office in Yemen," noting that the program informed some employees that the end of their business contracts, while the rest will be informed in the coming days.
Al -Humairi indicated in a post on the X platform, that the program is also preparing to close a number of its offices in some Yemeni governorates, including the Hajjah Governorate office (northwest of the country) and the program office in Ibb Governorate (central Yemen).
These measures come with the Houthi militia refusing to release the program’s employees and humanitarian work kidnapped in its prisons.
