Yemeni -American talks on efforts to end the Houthi siege and restore freedom of navigation

The President of the Yemeni Presidential Command Council, Rashad Muhammad Al -Alimi, received today, Tuesday, the American ambassador to Yemen, Stephen Wajen, in a meeting to address bilateral relations between the two countries and the prospects for enhancing cooperation in various fields.
During the meeting, the developments of the Yemeni situation were discussed, with a focus on the joint efforts to end the siege imposed by the Houthi militia, and to restore freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, which is threatened by Houthi -backed Houthi attacks.
Also discussed ways to enhance cooperation to protect international waterways, and to ensure safety of marine shipping ships, according to the official Yemeni News Agency.
Al -Alimi praised the active American role in implementing the decision to ban Iranian weapons smuggled to the Houthis, in addition to its support in drying the sources of financing the Houthis.
