US official: Al -Houthi's almost daily air strikes in Yemen

A US official confirmed that the United States forces have carried out more than 300 air strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen since the start of military operations against them last March. The official added, in a statement to the media, that the strikes continue at an almost daily pace with the aim of destroying the Houthi military capabilities that threaten regional security.
He explained that the strikes include various types of goals, including Houthi fortifications and leadership and control centers. The official said that it is too early to determine the effectiveness of these strikes completely, as assessing the results of the attacks is still ongoing.
The official also pointed to the participation of the American B-2 bombers in the air strikes, starting from the Diego Garcia base in the Indian Ocean, as part of the continuous efforts to destroy the Houthi military infrastructure.
With regard to the Houthi capabilities, the official stressed that the Houthis still keep huge capabilities to launch attacks on American naval ships and commercial shipping ships in the region, which constitutes a continuous threat to freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and the Bab al -Mandab strait.
On the other hand, the US Secretary of Defense confirmed that the air strikes will continue until the Houthi group stopped its attacks on American ships and interests in the region. However, the minister stressed that the final decision on escalating strikes or changing the strategy has not been taken yet.
In a related context, US military officials confirmed that the Vincon aircraft carrier and its combat group will reach the Middle East this week to enhance the presence of American forces in the region, in a move aimed at enhancing the deterrence of the Houthis and ensuring the protection of international navigation.
The official pointed out that the vast majority of military forces and equipment have arrived in the region as part of the strengthening of the United States of military, at a sensitive time witnessing an ongoing escalation in the attacks on American interests in the Gulf region.
