Washington Ambassador to Yemen: They are committed to finding a better situation for a political solution

The US ambassador to Stephen Wagin said that his country is committed to supporting the aspirations of the Yemeni people towards peace and prosperity, and to find a better situation to achieve a comprehensive political solution.
Wagen, during a ceremony organized by the American embassy in Yemen, confirmed on the occasion of the "National Day of the Independence of the United States", Washington's endeavor to enable the Yemenis to move forward towards a more hope for their country, in addition to restoring the security of maritime navigation in the Red Sea.
He pointed out that the illegal Houthi attacks on global navigation lines "obstructed efforts to achieve a bright future for the Yemeni people," according to what was reported by the Yemeni News Agency "Saba".
Wagin indicated that the concentrated US air strikes "target the terrorist militia and its military ability only, and not Yemeni civilians kidnapped in their areas of control.
He said that these military operations aim to "get rid of the Houthi facilities of weapons warehouses and their factories, leadership and control centers and other sites, they use them to direct their missile attacks, running aircraft and car bombs, as well as get rid of senior Houthi leaders."
He added that Washington is working extensively to prevent weapons from the flow of Iran and other countries to the Houthis, and seeks to "raise the level of cooperation with partners in the region, and work stops the financial flow of the Houthis."
The United States began in the middle of last month "broad military operations" that are still ongoing against the Houthis, with the aim of "protecting American naval freight and air and naval origins."
US President Donald Trump said that his country "will not allow any terrorist power to obstruct freedom of navigation in the global maritime corridors," calling on Iran to "immediately stop supporting the Houthis, otherwise it will bear full responsibility."
