China renews its categorical rejection of Houthi piracy in the Red Sea

China renewed its "categorical" rejection of piracy and terrorism practiced by the Houthi group in the marine corridors, considering that it poses a direct threat to international supply chains.
The Yemeni government newspaper Al -Thawra quoted the Chargé d'Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Yemen, Chancellor Shawng, as saying that his country's position towards the security and safety of the Red Sea is "fixed and unjustified."
In response to American statements that talked about the non -targeting of Chinese ships in the Red Sea, Shao said that his country rejects these hints, stressing that China has published from 2008 to today more than 1,000 security patrols to ensure navigation safety in international corridors, and that a large number of commercial ships enjoy high levels of protection, with the testimony of international parties.
He also announced in a press conference held on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of the Yemeni -Chinese relations, to exempt Yemeni products from customs duties to the Chinese market, confirming the decision to exempt Yemeni products from customs duties to the Chinese market is a matter of implementation.
Shaw said that the decision includes various Yemeni exports, foremost of which are fish products, noting that the Chinese market will be open to the Yemeni product without customs restrictions.
