The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the resumption of the work of the embassy of the Yemeni Republic in the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic, as of next Sunday, April 27th.

The Foreign Ministry stated in a statement today, Friday, that the counselor, Mohamed Azzi Baakkar, was assigned to the acting acting.

The ministry confirmed that the embassy’s return to carrying out its duties after the Houthi group took control of it since 2016, with the support of the former Syrian regime, represents a historical and milestone in the relations of the two countries and two brotherly peoples, and a very symbolic indicative of the presence of the state and its legitimate institutions and the disappearance of sedimentary and sabotage projects.

The ministry said in its statement that the resumption of the embassy’s work comes, “in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Shan’i Mohsen Al -Zindani and his brother, Minister of Foreign Affairs in the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic, Dr. Asaad Al -Shaibani, and a reflection of the historical and distinguished relations that link the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.”

The Ministry confirmed its aspiration through the reopening of the embassy to strengthen bilateral relations between the Republic of Yemen and the Syrian Arab Republic, and that this represents a new stage of cooperation between the two brotherly countries in various fields.
