A leader in transition

The prominent leader of the Southern Transitional Council, Salem Abu Bakr Muhammad Thabet Al -Awlak, today, began his official duties as the Director General of the General Authority for Lands, Survey and Urban Planning, to succeed Engineer Anis Baharith, and this comes in implementation of the Yemeni Prime Minister’s decision No. (50) of 2025 AD, issued on April 16, 2025 AD, and the judge assigned to be headed by the authority.
The receipt and delivery ceremony took place at the authority’s headquarters in the capital, Aden, in the presence of a number of officials and employees. The attendees emphasized the maximum importance of the advancement of the land sector and its organization in line with the Yemeni laws and regulations in force, to which the commissioning decision was based.
The land file in the liberated Yemeni regions faces major challenges, which puts great responsibilities on the authority’s new leadership to achieve comprehensive reforms, ensure the preservation of state property, and organize its use effectively.
It is noteworthy that Salem Al -Awlak is one of the young competencies that enjoy a good reputation and experience in the fields of management and institutional work, and he headed the National Authority for Southern Media in the Southern Transitional Council, and aspirations are increasing towards enhancing transparency and activating the authority’s role in protecting state property and organizing investment and using lands to serve the public interest.
