Pentagon: The US military has targeted more than a thousand locations in Yemen since mid -March

Since mid -March, the US military has targeted more than a thousand locations in Yemen, where Washington launched air strikes against the Houthis, according to the US Department of Defense on Tuesday.
The Pentagon spokesman said in a statement that “the US Central Command for the Middle East (Centcom) has targeted since March 15, more than a thousand sites, with Houthi fighters and leaders ... and their capabilities,” according to what was reported by the French Press Agency.
Since the outbreak of the war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip after the Palestinian movement's attack on the southern Hebrew state on October 7, 2023, the Houthis have launched dozens of missile attacks against Israel and against ships in the Red Sea they say they are linked to it.
Sabah Wednesday, the British army announced that in conjunction with the American army, it launched an air strike in Yemen, targeting a facility to produce aircraft of Iranian -backed Houthi aircraft.
The British Ministry of Defense said in a statement that “the British forces participated in a joint operation with the American forces against a Houthi military target in Yemen,” noting that the target facility is about 25 kilometers south of the capital, Sanaa.
The statement pointed out that the air strike was carried out, “at night, when the possibility of civilians in the area is low.”
According to the ministry, the strike was carried out by the British Typhoon fighters and targeted “a group of buildings used by the Houthis to manufacture drones of the type used to attack ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.”
British Defense Secretary John Haley confirmed to the House of Commons that “all the specified goals have been successfully reached” and civilians have not been recorded.
He pointed out that the Houthis have launched since November 2023 "more than 320 attacks" on international trade ships in the Red Sea.
Since the beginning of 2024, the United States, the largest ally of Israel, has launched strikes against the Houthis in which he sometimes shares Britain.
But it is the first time that London has announced that it has participated with Washington in carrying out an air strike in Yemen since the American army launched an intense campaign against the Houthis.
And Sunday, Sentcom announced the targeting of more than 800 sites in Yemen since mid -March and hundreds of deaths among the Houthis.
After hours of this announcement, the Houthis accused the American army of targeting a shelter center in Saada, the stronghold of the group in northern Yemen, in a bombing that resulted in 68 dead and 47 wounded among African immigrants held in it.
In connection with the French Press Agency, Centcom said that she is “aware of the alleged civil losses related to American strikes on Yemen and take them seriously.”
She indicated that she is “currently evaluating the damage and achieving these allegations.”
