Finance Minister Salem bin Brik refused to accept the candidacy for the next prime minister for the second time to succeed Ahmed bin Mubarak, after leaking information about a consensus in the Presidential Command Council obtaining his appointment as Prime Minister.
Sources close to Ben Brik confirmed: He refused to accept the presidency of the government, except with requirements, including the support of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the state’s general budget, and to control the collection of revenues, in addition to reforming monetary policy in a way that limits the continued deterioration of the local currency.
According to the same sources, a consensus in the leadership of the Presidential Council over the person of Ben Brak to take over the position, after the successes he achieved in building and controlling the work of the Customs Authority and the Ministry of Finance from Aden, one of the ministers of technocrats where he was included in government leadership positions for more than 3 decades, during which he was known as the integrity and imposing job discipline in facilities that support the responsibility of its administration.
This is the second time that Bin Brik refused to preside over the government, as he was previously nominated before Bin Mubarak assumed the presidency of the government early last year.
It was reported that Ben Brik appointed to head the government with a wide welcome, as the former head of the free zone, Dr. Abdul Jalil Al -Shuaibi, who is close to the Southern Transitional Council, in a post on his Facebook page: Ben Brik in my estimation, and through my experience and work with him in the customs of the free zone, is the most appropriate personality to lead the Work Council at this stage, because of its efficiency, integrity and economic experience, especially in reforming the banking system and dealing with international financing, which are necessary qualifications to save Yemen and achieve stability and development in This critical stage, provided that the leadership council gives it its executive powers in accordance with the usual standards in governments internationally.
