The First Undersecretary of the Yemeni Ministry of Electricity and Energy, Abdul Hakim Fadel, today signed a memorandum of understanding with a Korean company to establish a gas-fueled generation station with a capacity of 450 megawatts.
The agreement includes the establishment of a liquefied gas processing facility and a gas-fueled generating station with a capacity of 450 megawatts, without mentioning the location of the station’s construction.
This project comes as part of the government’s efforts to improve and develop the electricity sector, and raise the generating capacity in the electricity sector in Yemen.
The First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, Abdul Hakim Fadel, confirmed that this project is one of the most prominent and important strategic projects in the electricity sector, and an important step towards improving electricity service in Yemen.
Fadil explained that the project will contribute to alleviating the burdens on citizens, improving electricity service, and enhancing the stability of the national electrical network.
