Today, the ship "MT AM MOON" unloaded a shipment of polluted diesel amounting to 5 thousand metric tons in Aden refineries, after it was rejected by Hadhramaut Governorate, due to its contamination and unsuitability for use.
According to local sources, the ship had arrived at the port of Mukalla, in Hadramaut Governorate, loaded with the aforementioned shipment, but the inspection report issued by the competent authorities in the governorate proved that it was contaminated and unfit for use, which led to a refusal to unload it.
The sources added that the ship left the port of Mukalla and headed to the oil port in Buraiqa, in the capital, Aden, where it unloaded its contaminated cargo into Aden’s refineries.
This incident sparked widespread controversy, and the leader of the Transitional Council, Fadi Baoum, considered it an environmental crime that harms the environment and public health.
Many parties demanded that an urgent investigation be opened into the incident, and that the necessary measures be taken against those responsible.
