The Embassy of the United States of America in Yemen praised the efforts of the Southern Giants forces to address the smuggling of Yemeni antiquities, after thwarting an attempt to smuggle 24 artifacts through Bab al -Mandab.

The embassy said in a statement via its official account on the X -Twitter platform: “We construct the efforts made to stop the illegal trafficking in Yemeni artifacts, and we stand alongside everyone who works to protect the Yemeni cultural heritage for the benefit of future generations.”

The embassy added: "The United States remains committed to bilateral coordination in order to preserve the Yemeni culture and combat the smuggling of antiquities."

The Southern Giants forces managed, last Thursday, to thwart the smuggling of artifacts that were hidden in a tight manner inside the shipment of car parts heading to the Horn of Africa via Bab al -Mandab. The smugglers and antiquities were arrested, as part of the continuous efforts to combat smuggling and enhance security, amid a wide praise of the successful process.
