Al -Alimi in Moscow to discuss the complications of the Yemeni crisis and request the assistance of Russia

The President of the Yemeni Presidential Command Council, Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al -Alimi, started an official visit to the Russian capital, Moscow, today, Tuesday, at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, in light of diplomatic moves aimed at discussing the developments of the Yemeni crisis and promoting bilateral cooperation.
He was received by Al -Alimi upon his arrival at Fonkovo Airport, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Verchainin, alongside the Yemeni ambassador to Moscow Ahmed Salem Al -Wahishi and a number of members of the Yemeni diplomatic mission.
An official reception ceremony was organized, interspersed with a playing ceremony for the two national anthem, and a review of the Honor Guard.
It is scheduled to meet Al -Alimi during his visit to Russian President Vladimir Putin, to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to enhance them, in addition to discussing efforts to bring peace in Yemen, and developments of the relevant regional and international scene.
Al -Alimi will also hold meetings with a number of senior officials in the Russian government and the Duma Council, in addition to political and cultural activities interested in Yemeni affairs.
In a statement carried by the official Yemeni News Agency, Al -Alimi praised the historical relations between Yemen and Russia, confirming his country's aspiration to enhance cooperation in various fields, and appreciated what he described as the "fixed Russian position" supporting Yemeni legitimacy.
Al -Alimi is accompanied on his visit by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Shan’i Al -Zindani, and his advisers in the defense fields, Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al -Subaihi, Development Eng. Omar Al -Amoudi, and Cultural Affairs Marwan Damaj.
