Embry Maritime Security Company reported, on Sunday, that an oil tanker belonging to a company linked to Israel was intercepted off the coast of Yemen, indicating that it was carrying “phosphoric acid.”
According to Embry, “the US Navy is monitoring the situation” after the incident involving the “Central Park” ship, which is owned by a UK-based company linked to Israel.
She indicated that the Houthis linked to Iran had previously threatened to attack the ship if it did not divert its course towards the port of Hodeidah.
The sources did not clarify who seized the ship, and there are conflicting reports about its fate, whether it was in the hands of Somali pirates or the Houthis.
