A defense official said that the US Navy shot down a drone in the Red Sea coming from an area of Yemen controlled by the Houthi group on Wednesday morning.
This is the sixth time that the US Navy has fired on drones in the southern Red Sea since the Israeli aggression on Gaza on October 7 and in the midst of a series of attacks on commercial ships in the waters of the Middle East.
Earlier on Wednesday, the British Maritime Trade Operations Authority and the British maritime security company Ambrey spoke about an incident related to a suspected drone west of the port of Hodeidah in Yemen.
The authority warned ships crossing the area to be careful.
