On Friday, the Iranian-backed Houthi group announced progress in the Saudi road map to bring peace to Yemen.
This was stated by Muhammad Abdel Salam Fleita, the official spokesman and head of the group’s negotiating delegation, in a post on social media platforms.
Fleta said that his group's delegation met with the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, and the humanitarian, political and military path and the progress that had been achieved in it were discussed.
Fleta indicated that the progress that has been achieved is related to “overcoming the most important obstacles to ensure an end to the war and siege, the payment of salaries to all Yemeni employees, the release of all prisoners and detainees, the exit of foreign forces from Yemen, reconstruction, and preparation for political dialogue.”
Falita expressed his thanks and appreciation for “the efforts of the Sultanate of Oman in supporting peace efforts during the dialogue rounds that took place in Muscat, Sana’a, and Riyadh.”
