An Omani delegation and the Houthi negotiating delegation residing in Muscat arrived today, Thursday, in Sanaa, Yemen, on their way to the Saudi capital, Riyadh, to hold discussions with the Saudi leadership related to the Yemeni crisis.
The Omani delegation headed by the Omani ambassador to Yemen arrived, while the Houthi delegation arrived headed by Mohammed Abdul Salam, the group’s spokesman.
The two delegations held meetings with Houthi officials in Sanaa, to discuss developments in the Yemeni issue, and in preparation for discussions with the Saudi leadership.
This visit comes within the framework of the efforts made by the Sultanate of Oman to facilitate a political solution to the Yemeni crisis, with the support of the United Nations.
The Sultanate of Oman had previously hosted several rounds of negotiations between the Yemeni government and the Houthis, with the aim of reaching a peaceful solution to the crisis.
