Al-Zaouri participates in the meetings of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs

The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Muhammad Al-Zaouri, participated today in the meetings of the 43rd session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, held in Cairo during the period from December 18-21, 2023 AD.
Al-Zaouri stressed in his speech that the economic and humanitarian crisis that the country is going through, resulting from the devastating war launched by the terrorist Houthi militia, has led to the deprivation of many segments of society of basic services and that Yemen is still facing many challenges in various fields.
He said that the Ministry worked within the framework of its tasks and powers to accomplish many tasks and prepare a number of plans that aim to provide services to all segments of society, including continuing to implement the activities and events of the National Plan for Women, Peace and Security for the second year in a row, and preparing the National Plan for Social Protection. It includes programs and projects to reduce poverty and inequality and support comprehensive growth, in cooperation with a number of competent government agencies and in coordination with UNICEF, in addition to preparing a comprehensive plan for productive families programs, a plan to rehabilitate children recruited by the Houthi militias, and a national plan for caring for the elderly. p>
He added, "The Ministry has made great strides in increasing the beneficiaries of social care, increasing the revenues of the Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Fund, unifying work and coordinating efforts between local and international organizations to provide services and ensuring the benefit of humanitarian and relief programs and projects for most segments of society.
He explained that despite these efforts, the government still faces many challenges as a result of not benefiting from oil capabilities as a result of the Houthi militias’ strike on export platforms and their continued threat to international navigation, calling for a firm international stance towards the militias and stopping all forms of threats.
