A Lebanese newspaper said that the coming days will witness the signing of an agreement between the delegation of the Houthi group and the Presidential Leadership Council, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, under the name “Riyadh Declaration,” provided that it includes 5 main provisions, and the ceremony will take place with a wide international presence.
It was reported. The Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar, from what it described as diplomatic sources, confirmed that “Saudi Arabia began making arrangements, a few days ago, for the signing ceremony to officially end the state of war in Yemen, which ceremony will take place in Riyadh in the presence of representatives of the “Presidential Council” and the negotiating delegation of the Houthi group.
She indicated that the ceremony will also take place in the presence of representatives of the European Union, the United States, Britain, France, the Gulf Cooperation Council, and the Secretary-General of the Arab League.
The announcement includes the following:
- Ceasefire agreement.
- Salary disbursement agreement
- Opening of roads
- Expansion of commercial flight destinations from Sana’a Airport to five other airports.
- Resolving the stalled issue of prisoners and detainees according to the all-in-one rule
According to the newspaper, “Diplomatic sources familiar with the discussions spoke of a Saudi-American-UN approach to transfer a number of disagreements over implementation mechanisms to future rounds, which will be arranged by Office of the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg.
The delegation of the Houthi group arrived in Riyadh on Thursday evening, accompanied by an Omani delegation, as part of the efforts made to end the war and achieve peace in Yemen, after about 9 years of war.
On Thursday evening, Saudi Arabia announced that it had invited a delegation from Sanaa to visit it. This is to complete the meetings and discussions, based on the Saudi initiative announced in March 2021.
