A major fire broke out in a wooden ship, causing material damage to the port of Mukalla

A large fire broke out this morning in the port of Mukalla, resulting in major material damage but no human casualties.
A source in the port of Mukalla said that the fire broke out in a wooden ship that was about to sail to the Socotra Archipelago, carrying cars and other materials.

The source added that the firefighting teams of the Coast Guard Civil Defense Department and the Mukalla District Fire Department were able to extinguish the fire and prevent its spread to other ships and boats in the port.
Local sources reported that the Director General of the Mukalla City Directorate, Brigadier General Abdullah Salem Bayashout, inspected the fire site and reassured the safety of the ship’s crew and workers on board.
The sources confirmed that the fire caused significant losses to public and private property, and the source called on the concerned authorities to take the necessary measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future.
