Explosions in the Egyptian sky of Sinai... and Al-Houthi: We carried out attacks on Eilat

After Egyptian media reported hearing explosions in the city of Dahab in the Egyptian South Sinai Governorate on Tuesday morning, the Houthi group in Yemen confirmed, on Tuesday evening, carrying out drone attacks on the city of Eilat in southern Israel.
The Houthi group's spokesman, Yahya Saree, said, "The group launched a missile attack on a commercial ship belonging to MSC United in the Red Sea after it rejected three warning calls."
Targeting a commercial ship
He said, “We carried out an operation to target a commercial ship, MSC United, with missiles... after its crew refused, for the third time, calls from the naval forces, as well as repeated fiery warning messages.”
For his part, Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari announced the interception of an air target over the Red Sea that was on its way to Israel.
He added that the Houthi operations do not only target Israel and are a form of Iranian terrorism.
Explosions in the sky of Dahab
Earlier on Tuesday, eyewitnesses reported hearing explosions in the Egyptian sky of Dahab in the South Sinai Governorate overlooking the Red Sea, according to what was reported by the Cairo News Channel.
They also explained that a flying object landed about two kilometers from the city’s shores.
While a senior Egyptian security source confirmed that Egyptian air defenses shot down a flying object near the coast of the city of Dahab in South Sinai Governorate, adding that investigation teams moved to the site to find out more details.
Tensions in the Red Sea
The Red Sea has witnessed many tensions and dozens of Houthi attacks launched from Yemen against commercial ships sailing through this global trade corridor, since the seventeenth of last October.
This came after the Houthis threatened to target ships heading towards Israel or ships of countries cooperating with it in response to the Israeli war on Gaza.
Egypt warns of expanding fighting
These attacks shed light on the dangers facing Egypt and other countries in the region as fighting escalates between Israel and Palestinian factions. Especially since Cairo plays an active role in negotiating the arrival of aid to Gaza, in trying to release prisoners held by Hamas, and in calling for a ceasefire, but its proximity to the confrontation line exposes it to risks.
Cairo has repeatedly warned of the expansion of the fighting and its transformation into a regional war, especially with the entry of Hezbollah in southern Lebanon and other armed factions supported by Iran, whether in Iraq, Syria and Yemen, into the conflict, albeit in a limited manner so far.
