The extremist Al-Qaeda organization in Yemen threatened to launch strikes against French and Swedish targets, claiming that they are hostile to Islam, while its forces are suffering from painful strikes, whether from international aviation or the Belt Forces of the Southern Transitional Council, as “Le Figaro” and the “BFM” news channel reported on Friday, Parts of what was published in the latest issue of the magazine issued by the organization, via the “Telegram,” “Rockat Chat,” and “WhatsApp” applications.
The organization, which is suffering from crises both in Yemen and on the international scene, directed a strike against a French ministry and another against a Swedish embassy.
French media reported from what was stated in the organization’s propaganda magazine “Sada al-Malahim,” “It has become clear that Sweden has chosen to take the lead in the war against Islam and Muslims among the European Union countries, thus competing with France, Denmark, and other countries for first place in the race to oppose God and His Messenger.” ".
The organization added, "They will not understand until they hear news such as 'The Swedish embassy was crushed by a violent bombing' or 'An armed attack against a ministry in Paris.'"
BFM channel quoted the head of the French Center for Intelligence Research, Alain Rodier, saying, “It is difficult not to make a connection with the decision to ban the wearing of the abaya in French schools, even if it was not mentioned. Just referring to a ministry, for France, the matter relates to the state, specifically.” The country's internal policy
Rudier continued, “For Sweden, the repeated burning of copies of the Qur’an in recent months makes it a main target.”
According to the Terrorism Analysis Center, Al-Qaeda is working to rebuild its capabilities in directing external threats, especially in Afghanistan, but also in the Sahel region and the Iraqi-Syrian region.
The Center believes that the Al-Qaeda branch in the Arabian Peninsula in particular, which claimed responsibility for the attack that took place in Paris against Charlie Hebdo in January 2015, has always been very active despite the major setbacks in Yemen.
The Security Belt forces of the Southern Transitional Council were able to defeat Al-Qaeda members in a number of governorates, especially in Abyan, but the extremist organization still poses threats and takes Yemen as a refuge due to the state of chaos caused by the Houthi invasion of the capital and a number of areas.
Expert Alain Rodier warned that Al-Qaeda had issued threats against Charlie Hebdo two years before carrying out the bloody attack against the newspaper, which means they have the ability to wait. “When they threaten, they often carry out,” Rodier added.
