Urgent.. Prisoner negotiations between the government and the Houthis reach a dead end

Majed Fadael, spokesman for the government delegation in the negotiations of prisoners and abductees with the Houthi militia, revealed today, Wednesday, that the negotiations have reached a dead end, following the group’s intransigence.
Fadhil said, in a statement to the “X” website monitored by the editor of Scoop24, that the round of negotiations for prisoners and abductees in Jordan has been postponed indefinitely, after the Houthis’ intransigence and obstruction of this meeting, which was scheduled for this week.
He explained that the Houthis also obstructed the holding of the round scheduled for last November in Switzerland.
Fadhil stressed that the Houthis’ continued intransigence in the negotiations is a continuation of the practices committed by the militias against the Yemeni people, and their exploitation of humanitarian files politically and in the media, far from any commitment or moral responsibility even towards their prisoners.
The faltering prisoner negotiations between the government and the Houthis is a new blow to peace efforts in Yemen, which faces many challenges, most notably the Houthis’ intransigence in implementing the terms of the UN truce.
