This comes, shortly after an explosion was heard in the city overlooking the Red Sea, which is under the control of the Houthis.

Earlier, American warplanes flew at low altitude over the city's sky.

On Saturday, the United States carried out more strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen, according to a US official, a day after launching an internationally coordinated attack on nearly 30 Houthi sites.

At dawn on Friday, the United States and the United Kingdom bombed 28 separate Houthi sites in an attempt to disrupt their ability to fire on international shipping lanes in the Red Sea.

The attacks resulted in the killing of five people and the injury of six others, according to a spokesman for the Houthi army.
