A Houthi ballistic missile hits an American ship off the coast of Aden

Two British maritime security agencies reported on Monday that a missile hit an American ship, southeast of the coast of Aden, hours after the Americans shot down a cruise missile fired by the Houthis in the southern Red Sea.
The UK MTO agency, which is run by the British Royal Navy, indicated that it had received a report about an incident that occurred “95 nautical miles southeast of Aden,” noting that “a missile hit the left side of the ship.” .
For its part, the British Maritime Security Agency "Ambry" reported that "reports confirmed that a US-owned cargo tanker flying the flag of the Marshall Islands was hit by a missile while crossing the international transport corridor," noting that it was "on its way to the Suez Canal." .
She added that the incident caused “a fire in a warehouse... and no injuries were reported,” considering that “the ship was assessed as not belonging to Israel.” It assessed the attack as "a targeting of American interests in response to the American military strikes on Houthi military sites in Yemen."
The US Central Command announced earlier today, Monday, the downing of an anti-ship cruise missile fired at a US aircraft carrier in the Red Sea.
This comes after raids carried out by the United States and Britain in coordination with the Netherlands, Bahrain, Australia and Canada last Friday (January 12), on nearly 30 Houthi targets in several Yemeni cities, followed by a single raid by the United States of America at dawn on Saturday morning on Al-Dailami Air Base.
